I've had the following responses from lovely people which I thought
important to share, there were some other response who were concerned
that my needs were aligned with the continuing other african based
requests for bank accounts etc' which [I hope] we're aware of, thank you
to those who expressed concern... Your response was as important. My
Peers who responded, and their edited reponses are below and I hope

You could try Western Union. I don't know what the fees are but they
couldn't be much worse than the banks. On the other hand, for an amount
like $25 you might just as well send notes - but that of course runs
into other problems at times (like exchange controls). You can get

I have tried all the banks and found them to expensive, I now use Thomas
Cook travel and exchange and get bank drafts for me needs,you get the
cost of the change over of the day and the bank draft is about $10 or
$12. Hope this of some help Margaret.
