Have you tried any of the books on Squizzy?
There is one by Hugh Anderson called "The rise and fall of Squizzy Taylor,
larrikin crook". Not sure how good it is.
I believe his real name was Joseph Leslie Theodore Taylor, son of Benjamin
Taylor and Rose Jones. He was 38 when he was killed in Nov 1927. If you're
interested there was an inquest on him which may give names of associates
etc. I can give you the number if you want to go that far.
