Latest release - Marine Births, Deaths and Marriages Index with
Original Images
This CD-ROM contains over 6,200 Registry index records of births,
deaths
and marriages on board international and coastal ships bound for
Victoria
from 1853 to 1920.

For the first time in Australia birth, death and marriage indexes are
accompanied by digital images of the original pages in the registers
including, in some cases, personal papers that accompanied the
registration. There is no need to buy the certificates of these marine
records as all information is contained on the CD-ROM.

There is also over 1,350 ships indexed to allow searching by ship's
name. If
you are interested in marine history you can search all births, deaths
and
marriages on a particular ship on its voyages to Victoria in the
period.

Please note that the Marine Index CD-ROM is not available through maxi
and can only be obtained by completing the VicHeritage(TM) Index Order
Form.

Cost $204 plus postage available at http://www.justice.vic.gov.au
