Hi Beverley

I am a member of the Keilor Historical Society. Salt Water River now
Maribyrnong River is located at Keilor. I have a copy of
'Dead Men do Tell Tales'

A check of reads the following.

Quote
"Henry and Mary, once being farm labourers themselves in Ireland, were now
in a position to offer employment to domestic servants and labourers. such
was the case when they employed Bridget Ferry, an Irish Orphan from County
Donegal, who arrived in Port Phillip in 1848 aboard the "Lady Kennaway'. She
went to work as an apprentice to Henry Delahey for two years with wages of 6
pounds. Sadly, three years later, Bridget Ferry was admitted to the Yarra
Bend Lunatic Asylum suffering from dementia. She was only 17 years old. What
happened to her we do not know."

If you want anything further on Henry Delahey please let me know. I sure we
can arraneg further info.

Would anyone be researching the Salt Water River area in the late 1840's. I
am interested in a Henry Delahey who apprenticed a female child ( Bridgit
Ferry from Dunfanaghy, Donegal, an Irish Famine Refugee, aged 14 years in
1849 , between December 1849 until or before 26th April 1851.What sort of
apprentiship? Anything at all. Beverley, Tannum Sands, Tropical Queensland.
