Hi Rhonda,

I haven't seen an answer to this enquiry either. If you have a look in a
Sands & McDougall Directory for the period you have mentioned, you might be
able to clarify the name of the company - your mum probably remembers the
name of the street where the business was located.

I'm not entirely convinced that these sort of apprenticeships were properly
registered, it being, after all, an industry dominated by women, but I
think the people who would know, and who might be able to direct you to the
right place, if they existed, would be the the union. You could try asking
the Australian Trades Union Archives for advice.
