I am trying to find some information on a George WILSON (Born c. 1848). He
married Phoebe BILLINGHAM on 2/12/1875 at Drayton Queensland and his
marriage certificate gives his place of birth as Melbourne, Victoria. His
parent's names are given as George and Mary and his father's occupation as
shoemaker. George and Phoebe had 4 children, 2 of which died in infancy:
John George Wilson (1876-1952), Annie Mary WILSON (1878-1882), Edward Samuel
Wilson (1880-1881) and Violet Mary Wilson (1886-1980). George died 5 days
before his daughter Violet was born and I believe he is buried in Toowong
Cemetery in Brisbane.
Does anyone have any information on him or his parents. I have searched the
Victorian Pioneer's BDM Index but can find no record that fits these
details.
