What avenues have you followed so far? The death certificate should
give you so much more detail than what you have stated . . what
information was given about his marriage and to whom etc. How long in
the colonies etc.
Do you know when they moved to Australia? That should be on the death
certificate. "Gree" could well be Greenoch, Scotland (only a guess).
If they arrived after 1851 you could aways search the Scottish census
cross referencing the age . . also with information of children etc . .
. you might even have some luck with the 1841 census.
Do you have the daughter's marriage certificate? Any mention of
Duncan's occupation . . . again another pointer when trying to track him
down in the 1841 census . . . willing to help if I can . . . but would
need more information than you have initially given. Currently don't
have access to either of census' mentioned, but someone else may be able
to assist.
