Hi everyone
If sks could please help me out with a bit of a confusing family.

I have the death certificate of an Emma NESS who died in 1868. The informant was a friend, who she apparently was living with at the time, William THOMSON, of Fitzroy.

This certificate states that she was married twice

1) London, Age 7 to Francis PALMER to whom she had 2 daughters. One who survived - another Emma (20 yrs), so Emma PALMER.
2) Melbourne, Age 23 to John NESS, to whom she had a son Benjamin (12 yrs).

Her parents were Horace SELMAN & Catherine Mary GETA.

Now I have been informed by other family members that Benjamin is my GG Grandfather, but his surname is COHEN. Geta is a common female name within the family.

So I am after any details on this SELMAN & NESS family. And if there is a connection with William THOMSON.
