I am not sure what the record is, they usually give a brief description but
what I posted you is what was there. You can order the record at a cost. The
link is http://www.naa.gov.au/ just search as a guest, I can never remember
my user name and password.
It would not be a birth or death as they are registered in the state
archives, I had a look to see if there was a will but no sign of one they
are at PROV in Melbourne, http://www.prov.vic.gov.au/

Thanks, Carmel. Was this a birth or death record? If this was a death
record, then John and Anne must have had a child who died. All of the names
are connected to my John Edward Charleson, but he died in 9 May 1999. His
father was John Edward, grandfather (and my uncle) Eric, and mother a
MacKenzie.
Could you pls give me the link for the National Archives?
Thanks very much.
