Did any mid 19 century military manoeuvres involve the building of low
(40cms) walls round 25metre circles?

Whilst I suspect not, as it doesn't seem in keeping with the very little I
know about military formations, I need to make sure I am not overlooking
something.

The reason for asking is I have to write a hypothetical for a post grad uni
assignment in archaeology, the earth circles appear aboriginal, but the
opposition is going to argue thay are were built for a mid 19 century
military manoeuver.

I need to know if there is any evidence to support such a claim.
