Hello All,

I am Doreen, I live in Yorkshire UK and I am searching for a history of a
relative (deceased) who was reported to be a guardsman at the Murchison
Internment camp in Vic. during the time of WW2.

I cannot find a military record for him at the AWM site and I wondered if he
was a civilian employee or volunteer as he was a farmer by profession.

So I am searching for any nominal rolls etc specifically for civilian
empolyees - volunteers employed by the military at the time. If anyone can point
me in the right direction I will be very grateful.

A good friend in northern NSW has suggested I look at the Volunteer Defence
Corps which I am doing.

I have searched _http://www.awm.gov.au/_ (http://www.awm.gov.au/) (I
found the Encyclopedia especially, is an excellent tool) as is the database
collection _http://www.awm.gov.au/database/collection.asp_
(http://www.awm.gov.au/database/collection.asp)

Cheers
Doreen
