I notice that a number of listers have an interest in William Saltmarsh.
This is all I have but would appreciate confirmation and additional

Notes for William SALTMARSH
Sentenced at Kingston to 7 years transportation.

Convict of First Fleet, per ‘Alexander’. To Norfolk Island aboard the
‘Surprize’ on 1 Aug 1790, along with Mary Butler.

Four months before Mary gave birth to their son, William was sentenced
to 100 lashes for theft and was ordered to work in the gaol gang for an
indefinite period. He left Norfolk Island on the ‘Pitt’ a month later,
on 8 May 1792, for Bengal and never returned.
