In the Bay of Islands there were Anglican missionaries, who recorded the

listed on Pearlspad http://pearlspad.net.nz./ Copies of the books

Virus Protection
(Posted on London Interest Group Mailing List)

If you use Outlook Express you can permanently prevent files with
attachments from being downloaded by your server:
1. Select TOOLS then MESSAGE RULES then MAIL
2 Mail Rules window appears - select NEW
3. Under the pane 'Select Conditions for your rule' - scroll down and
put a tick against
'Where Mail includes attachment'
4. In the next box 'Actions' below scroll down and select or 'Delete
from Server'.
(If you wish to receive attachments from known sources you will have to
pre arrange a drop time and switch off this rule temporarily.)
It is also highly recommended that you SWITCH OFF the Auto 'Preview
Pane' option. This allows you to check and delete any files with
attachments before they are opened automatically. (By then the damage
is often done). If you find any suspect files Press 'Shift' and 'Delete'
and 'Yes' to permanently delete the offending file from your PC.
To Disable the automatic preview pane - VIEW – LAYOUT/ untick 'Show
Preview Pane'
Also a good idea to disable Automatic Download option:
To Disable automatic download - TOOLS -OPTIONS-READ – untick
'Automatically'
download message when viewed in preview pane.
None of this of course replaces good AV software on your PC. See above
for site for good free software.
You can check alert messages and advice for free at the Symantec site
(they produce Norton
products) at www.Symantec.com/avcenter/vinfodb.html (Also has
excellent section on
jokes and hoaxes.)

The current round of viruses utilises email addresses on unread email
and also harvests emails from your cache of Web pages (the temporary
copy of the page stored on your hard drive). I have had around a hundred
+ messages sent to me from people that have recently visited pages on
our web site. Information about W32.BadTrans.B… can be found at

We are planning to put the past newsletters onto a CD, however, due to
earlier computer problems we lost our copies prior to the 5th June 2000.
We would be pleased to hear from anyone who still has the earlier copies
still on their computer. If you can help please email us at
