NOTICE BOARD
It is rather surprising to hear some of the newer members say "what's that?"
when you ask if they have checked the GRD. You then tell them it is a yearly
publication done in Sydney by JOHNSON & SAINTY and that people all over the
world enter the surnames they are researching. It was back in the early
1980s when through an entry in the GRD I contacted two people in NZ tracing
BARTON. Yes, we were connected! The amount of info given me was astounding
including the 1841 and 1851 census. So, when at the Australasian Congress in
Brisbane in 1994; who clapped the loudest when the two gentlemen were
honoured for their contribution to family history?
