Hi Marie
nice to see you, in a manner of speaking! Did I send you the descendancy
chart I have for Edward Davis? (It gets more involved) One of his
daughters, Eva, married a Leo L. Pickett. The NSW Post Office Directory for
1912 lists Leo L. Pickett and Chas E Pickett living at Nambucca Heads. Do
you have anything on these two? I had forgotten that your ggrandmother was
Susannah Pickett. One of Eva's descendants has been in touch, through Gwen
- have you been in touch with her?
I work in spurts - at the moment family history is losing out to work and
spring gardening. I built a new house (my very first, due to unfortunate
choice of partners :) three years ago and have had a very limited budget for
all the extras ever since. Finally got side fences, so went berserk this
spring establishing trees shrubs and new garden beds. We have a very hot
dry summer so the window of opportunity is nearly shut now until autumn.

Researching,
1.
Edward McCRISTAL m Elizabeth COOK(E) in1847. Edward
worked as a sawyer in the Gosford area in the 1850s. His third
child Francis was born at Mosquito Town (Erina) in 1855.
2.
William DAVIS, arrived in Gosford area in 1839. Sons Thomas,
Rock, Edward, Benjamin were
shipbuilders and there is a lot of documented research about
then - thanks mainly to Gwen Dundon.
I am descended from Thomas who married Susannah PICKETT.
I have a fair bit of information but I'm sure
there is a lot more out there!
3.
Patrick HUMPHREYS m Catherine MOONEY, 1802.
Son Thomas m Mary SPEARS, 1829.
Daughter Anne m William Sampson PICKETT, 1830
4.
Henry PICKETT. Arrived Sydney 1803. Died 1806.
Son William Sampson m Anne Humphreys 1830
Their daughter Susannah married Thomas DAVIS (my g grand
father)
5.
Michael O'LEARY m Margaret HURLEY in Bansha, Tipperary abt 1822.
Arrived in Australia in 1844 and settled in Cooranbong area.
Son Timothy married Ann HUMPHREYS, 1854 (daughter of Thomas and Mary
HUMPHREYS)
6. Abel DAVIS (son of Thomas) m Catherine O'LEARY (daughter of Michael
and Ann) in 1882.
These were my grandparents.
It all gets a bit involved!
Marie Riley
