Hi fellow fence sitting listers,

I agree, the holidays are over, the brickwall flattened faces have had a
chance to recover, it is time to get off the fence and proceed to smack the
nose against the brickwall again: It will finally crumble!

I am still searching for the parents of my Grandfather, John Berry (Sawyer),
born in Brisbane Waters in 1849. Their names were John Berry (Sawyer) and
Jane Fletcher. Except for the birth of an elder son (Edward), I have not
been able to establish any other definitive events (Births, Marriage,
Deaths). With the greatly appreciated assistance of several listers and
member's of the Fletcher descendants, the family of William Fletcher has
been eliminated as a reference point for Jane. Is she just a figment of my
imagination?

A candidate for John Berry senior is reported, in a letter to the Colonial
Secretary in 1847, as being in Parlous health and in need of being admitted
to the infirmary. As the infirmary records may reveal the name of this
person's wife, I need to locate where the infirmary was (Sydney/Gosford)
and if records do exist relating to 1847 patients. This would allow me to
prove/eliminate this John Berry as my ancestor.

If any lister has any information relating to this subject, it will be
greatly appreciated as it is becoming very frustrating for me.

Regards

Scott Matthews
