yes, Gwen, wells were pretty common once- reliable source of water around
here.
the Berry St one made Mum reminisce about the one we used when we lived
in the house that is now the admin centre for St Edwards college. The well
was very close to the house on the eastern side. Mum has often wondered what
the Brothers did with it.
The other family one was a very deep pure one that never ran out at
another former Rogers property at MacMasters. It was right in the bottom
left hand corner of their place which is on the right just before where the
road forks to go to the beach and climbs the hill to go towards south
MacMasters, Maitland Bay etc.
