Dear Margaret and others.

Here's a little story to encourage those who think they can't get any further.
My mother was brought up in the heart of Sydney and used to tell us how as
a girl she would have diamonds and other jewels sewn into the hem of her
dress by grannie and would then be sent to deliver them to various working
jewellers around Sydney. Her father, James Henry Lang was a watchmaker and
jeweller and . Mum often spoke of the Degotardis, the Hoffnungs, Foys,
Horderns etc and one of her best friends, Priscilla Swann, lived at
Elizabeth Farm House. We always knew Auntie Mag was Mag Ryan before she
married Charlie Hopkins; Nettie Galvin married Eddie Sandilands, and her
sister Cis, lived with them. And among the endless stories we often heard
of "Sophie Prunty" who apparently was a school mate of mums and ended up
entering the convent.

Well recently I saw an email from someone looking for the ship that my ggf
came on. Shared a few details (because there were four Cardiff families on
board, all from Kildare). Soon found out that the researcher was looking
for FLOOD (which appears much earlier in my tree) and also Cullen. Meant
nothing to me till I saw that a granddaughter had entered the convent. Well
it was no effort to look at my "list of Nuns" which I got from the net some
time ago.

When I looked up Cullen, who should appear but Sophia Prunty daughter of
Luke Prunty and Maria!

NO, she's nothing to do with me but isn't it a good feeling to be able to
help someone else!
