Did you mean Broadview Avenue, off Gertrude Place (below Paul's Corner)?
The old Brisbane Water District Club in that short street was at a later
period (1950s-60s) a nursing home....now gone. However Bessie Mills may
have worked at the kiosk at Gosford District Hospital? You mentioned the
name Pitt - the late Paddy Pitt who lived in that street also, was a regular
Gosford Hospital visitor, and was known for a long time as "The Orange Man"
because he distrubuted oranges from his trees to the patients.
