Good Morning Margaret, Gwen and Listers,

A return to the pinpointing of the history/parentage of my maternal G.Grandparents John Berry and Jane Fletcher prior to 1851 (Birth of my Grandfather, John Berry) at Erina (Brisbane Water).

I have been otherwise engaged for some time attempting to unravel the parentage of my parental G.G. Grandmother, Isabella McGillivray, in Moray, Scotland about 1810. Even though I am now on first name terms with most families from the Moray Parishes, from the 1750s to the 1830s, I have not the slightest clue as to the parentage of the one I seek: Of Course, I have never heard of this sort of thing even occurring to any one else ! However, it is time to leave Scotland and start looking at John Berry and Jane Fletcher again.

The Gosford Local History Study Group has advised me that they have an indexed Copy of the Glennie journals. A phone call indicated that this document, working on the names of Berry and Fletcher, could possibly provide me with another starting point or line of research. Attempts to obtain this data have so far been unsuccessful.

I am going down to Sydney (compulsory viewing of latest Grand Daughter) on Wednesday, 15/10/03, and could call into Gosford on Thursday afternoon and/or Friday. Would it be possible to access the Glennie Journal in this time frame or would I have a better chance of doing so in Sydney. A search of the Magistrates records could also be of value. I am essentially looking for a lead that will link any John Berry and Jane Fletcher with each other and of course my Grand Father. John Berry, the ex convict, who lived in the area at the time is the present favourite for the position (He also had a Brother Daniel in the area at the time).
