Hi everyone,

My Grandmother told my Auntie many years ago that she had an
older sister Harriet J WHITCOMBE who was killed by lightning.
Apparently they had attended church in MURRURUNDI and Harriet
was struck while waiting outside, probably after the service.

This was in 1885 as Harriet's death is registered 1885 - 11001
in Murrurundi. She would have been around 6 years old, poor soul.

I have started to search the a Sydney paper for 1885 Aug-Oct but
no luck yet, I thought that it may have been reported. I am not
sure where No 11001 fits into year.

Are there copies somewhere of Local area papers, around Murrurundi
that may have reported an incident of that nature?
