It stood for Returned Sailors', Soldiers' and Airmen's Imperial League of
Australia, and was renamed as such in 1940 after being originally formed in
1916 as the Returned Sailors' and Soldiers' Imperial League of Australia.
In 1965 it became the current Returned Services League (RSL).
