My GG grandparents, Thomas George Carroll and Mary Stewart were married in 1848 by Father P Magennis at Catholic Church at East Maitland. Their oldest son (George) was also baptised there.

Two of their children (John 1849) and Patrick (1851) were baptised as was their mother Mary Stewart (1851) (a convert) at St. Johns RC Church at West Maitland.

Can anyone tell me where these churches were located at that time and what has become of them.

Does anyone know if there is a documented History of the Catholic Church in the Maitland area?
