I am researching
Philip SMYTH and Elizabeth WHITE (gggrandparents)
They were married in Singleton 1867 following a Roman Catholic rite.

I have some details of the SMYTH family but because the surnames were so common, I'm having trouble in tracking down more information.

The marriage document was signed by them by their marking with a cross, so I guess they were illiterate which only adds to the possible confusion of names.

Can anyone help?
