Hi Mathew
I too am interested in McNamara ancestors.
MMy ancestors were PATRICK McNAMARA of Co Mayo who married ELEANOR MURPHY.
They had children including:
Margaret McNamara born. circa 1807
Andrew McNamara b. circa 1815
Mary McNamara b. circa 1809 (married James Kellett in 1829)
Catherine McNamara b. circa 1812
Elizabeth McNamara b. circa 1819
Patrick was convicted at Co Mayo and transported to Australia aboard the
Isabella arriving 16.12.1823.
Eleanor and the children born in Ireland followed Patrick out on the Sir
Joseph Banks, arriving in Sydney in 1828.
Regards
CHERYLANNE
