Dear Marie
Are you talking about Benjamin SINGLETON of flour milling fame on the
Williams at the Mill Flat falls. I am a descendant of John NORRIS who I
think worked for Singletons and then later bought the five acres on which
the mill sat. My understanding is that this mill was destroyed in a flood in
1857 - John bought the land in 1863 from Jemima Singleton, who was the wife
(or perhaps widow?) of Ben's son William (she had received it from Mary,
Ben's widow) I have also seen a reference to Benjamin Singleton being
bankrupt at some point.

I have some gaps in my record of Ben.Singleton as it relates to John
Norris - so if we are talking about the same family, let's share some
information.
