Hi!

I'm new to the list and was wondering if anyone could help me.

James Muffett and his wife, Rebecca (nee Sinclair) along with their five sons, Charles (married Zootha Prior), Harry, Walter (married Rita Bird), Lindsay and Arch (married Lorna Osbourne) moved to Scone in 1929 to the property View Hills on Gundy Road. In 1930 the Family moved to Sunny Glee a dairy farm along Bunnan Road. James was instrumental in establishing the Pig and Calf saleyards in Scone and it is him who Muffett St. Scone is named for. James died in 1939 and Rebecca in 1968, the last of the five brothers died in 1986.

Rebecca's younger brother Henry "Nip" Sinclair also lived in the Scone area owning various properties and businesses including Glenavon, the Star Bakery in Liverpool St., an Oil Depot and a Hardware store. Nip's first wife was Hilda Prior who was a telephone operator in Scone and his second wife was Vera Noyes (nee Lynch) a secreatry who worked for Hallidays.

I know this is a long shot but I am looking for any stories, memories or anecdotes from anyone who may remember or have heard of these families and businesses.

Thank you,
Sharon Muffett
