Hi Anne Marie
Wish I did!
Although my O'Briens had a connection to Black Creek in 1857 through the
marriage of Ellen Mannix of Black Creek we don't appear to connect with any
of your family in any other way.
We've not been able to trace William's arrival in Aust, other than a William
O'Brien being mentioned as a ship deserter at Newcastle some months before
his marriage to Ellen Mannix who also happened to come from Mitchellstown
Cork IRL. We have a Bridget O'Brien sponsoring a baptism later that year,
whether or not she is a sister/close relative we haven't as yet been able to
find out. We have his youngest brother Denis Daniel O'Brien marrying in 1880
but once again have not been able to find or date his arrival in Aust. Maybe
jumping ship saved money!
Do you know the parents of your Michael O'Brien or his origins in Ireland?
Regards Viv
