Hi Pat
Welcome to the list - seems as if you have struck a distant relative
straight away!
Sarah Jane Lumley's mother was Sarah Nowland, a daughter of Henry
Nowland
of Muswellbrook. Henry was my g-g-grandfather, and I have some material
re
my branch of the Nowlands online at the following address:
http://www.upperhunter.nobbys.net.au/nowland.htm
John Lumley was a coach driver, first for the Nowlands, and then for
Cobb & Co.
He earlier managed a hotel in Singleton (this is from memory - haven't
looked at my
documentation re the Lumley family for yonks!)
