True there are Bowmans in the Dunedoo, Coolah areas and they are branches
from the original Hunter Valley family however their property names do not
always follow "allusions to the field of archery". One of the original
Bowman properties in this area is Merotherie which is situated between
Dunedoo and Coolah (roughly), but closer to Leadville. Merotherie has been
in this family for 4 or 5 generations.
