Hello list
I have been a fence sitter for some time, enjoying reading others input. I decided to add my surname interests once again
My gggrandfather Laurence MALACARNE (spelt Malacarnae, Malacarney and other variants) was a jeweller in Maitland He was born in Turin, Italy. Married Eliza Horwood, an English immigrant, in 1863, had daughter same year, Theresa. He died in Morpeth in 1871. His wife, Eliza remarried to William LENNON in in 1871, she had another daughter in 1871, I think LENNON was father. In the 1872 directory, Eliza MALACARNAE, jeweller is listed in Morpeth.
William LENNON was a ship's carpenter', born in Albany USA.
Therese MALACARNE, hen 15 years old, later married John TINSLEY(my grandfather) in Wagga.
The story, as I know it, is very vague and I wondered if someone could help me put some 'meat on the bones' I do not know how or when these people arrived in this area.
Regards
Gwen
