One of the things I'm interested in following up is what appears to have
been a bit of a migration from the north coast to the south coast, around
the turn of the century, maybe a bit later. When my great grandfather moved
to the south coast, he managed a sawmill for Dents, on the creek at
Huskisson (Jervis Bay). Settrees who had been boat builders at Brisbane
Water, also set up a boat building yard there and I grew up living about 2
doors from that yard. I've been in contact with another of Edward Davis's
descendants, who tells me that Edward was the first to apprentice an
Aboriginal tradesman, a Laurence Waddy. Surprise, surprise, there was a
family named Waddy living in Huskisson when I was growing up. I have also
seen the name Blanch mentioned on north coast lists, and my great aunt
married a Jack Blanch who was a timber man on the south coast. So there is
a bit of evidence growing for a minor migration.

Are there any Dent Blanch or Waddy descendants out there that can add any
more bits to this puzzle?
