Hi Yvonne and Norco Listers
A comprehensive index is a very useful research tool and that is why I am
asking people to transcribe (copy type) the index so it can be put on line.
If you would be willing to transcribe the index to volumes 1 & 2 of History
of Coutts Crossing and Nymboida Districts , that its exactly what I am
asking. Some people have found that to be too much and have transcribed the
contents instead, or the chapter headings if there is no index, but these
are far less useful as research tools.
If anyone else has a book on a North Coast town, family, district or event
and could assist by providing a transcript of the index I am sure we would
all benefit. We have 127 subscribed to list mode and 57 subscribed to
digest mode. If everyone transcribed one book index over say a month, then
we would have all of the indexes to North Coast books on line next month,
provided we coordinate the effort.
To avoid doubling up, I will put the name of the person transcribing the
index on the books page of Bellingen Gen Web
www.rootsweb.com/~nswbelli/books.html so before you transcribe an index,
check the page, then email me to tell me.
Hope you can help, for the benefit of us all.
Cheers
Paul
