Maria, No Brimstone recorded in my "Biographical Register of Port
Macquarie", but bear in mind that I have a few years to go to finish
entering data.
The info comes chiefly from
1.- my indexing of the Port Macquarie News 1882-1932-(PMN)
2. "The Winding Sheet" produced by Pt. M. Historical Society, of which I
was a member(records all burials of convicts in Pt . M '"Pioneer
Cemetery")-this info was obtained from Bench Books and reports of teh
Commandants/ Magistraets at Pt M.
3. Some from files of the Pt M Historical Society-I did keep some info from
these, as part of my History of Pt M for later use. I intended to keep info
on people as part of this.
4. Later, from the WWW.
5. Newspapers-Maitland Mercury for 1840s details; Manning River News/Times
for info in the 1850-1870s.
I have some 7000 pages of A4 info on computer, but still, have much data to
input. Please ask for explanations of abbreviations- I had intended to
explain these when the project is nearly finished. Please remember that all
the data is copied from various sources, and should be verified by other
means. The intention for this project was to be part of the Historical
Society's aim to prodcue a book on the history of Port Macquarie, but I left
the Society some years ago. This info was recorded on some 13, 100 page
notebooks which I did over a period of some 12 years, and was mainly
transfered to computer bu another woman member. Today, I make this info
freely available to researchers.
Some abbreviations:-
IOGT- Independent order of Grand Templars ( Lodges)
Pt M -Port Macquarie
W/S- "'Winding Sheet"
Ian
