Hi Pat
I posted a couple of messages from work re this but they seem to have got
caught up in Rootsweb as I have not subscribed at my work address. The most
feasible route for the transportation of a large amount of stock from EP to
Mulgoa would have been for the herd to cross the river at Emu Ford as this
is the lowest point in the river. They could also have been ferried across
as well.
Hope this helps
Best wishes
Jan

Thanks Grahame. I read p 86 - most interesting. The year mentioned was
1845. I am still hoping to find out what route the cattle were taken from
Emu Plains Convict establishment to Lowe's Hill at Mulgoa Forest during the
late 1820s.

Hi Pat
Page 86 of Toby indicates cattle swam across near Penrith. Other bits about
cattle in Toby.
