Hello Courtney
I have a similar situation with the complete disappearance of my GG
Grandmothers first husband, who she married at Meruthera near Cassilis at
age 13. Her first daughter has disappeared completely as well.
The same thing happened with the father of her next child...Gone off the
record completely.
She did remarry twice more, both times without seeking a divorce from the
previous husbands. In fact she had fifteen children to eight different men.
And all in different towns. That was the beauty of distance and the way the
records were kept. She could move on and invent another story and no one was
the wiser.
So Yes, I think it is perfectly reasonable to assume they could have and did
go their separate ways. Perhaps Henry did marry again.
Good luck
Kerrie
