I am seeking assistance is getting death details on my Thomas
WEBB. He is my GGG-grandfather (no kidding, he;d be old enough
to be my GGGGG-grandfather, but my grandfather was 70 when dad
was born. Granted, he's not really dad's father, but he did stay
alive a few years longer to at least be a dad to my dad.).

Anyway, I'd love to find out more about him. There are so mnay
Thomas WEBBs that I cannot simply just pick one and cross my
fingers like I usually do -- just kidding. I really need some
help on this one. What I really need to find another of his
descendants; one who has found out more details already.

Here's what I know, followed by some possibilities.


Thomas WEBB was born about 1823 -- based on age at marriage in
1852 of 29 years.
Thomas married Sarah ROWLES, daughter of James ROWLES and Sophia
DUNCOMBE on 20 Dec 1852 in Sorell, Tasmania, Australia. Sarah was
born Dec 1830 in Sorell, Tasmania, Australia. She died 1887 in
Redfern, NSW, Australia.

I haven't been able to find Thomas' death. I've found a number
of Thomas WEBB deaths that could be him. I've just spent the
past hour carefully deleting those that I could find a birth for
to confirm that it wasn't my Thomas and those who were well out
of the correct age bracket.

I'm left with:

Here's the marriage entry for *MY* Thomas WEBB.

WEBB, Thomas CM 1019601 Age: 29 Marriage
Spouse: ROWELS, Sarah Age: 22
Marriage Date: 20 Dec 1852
Reg Year: 1852 Reg State: Tasmania
Ref Number: 786

It clearly states his age as 29, which is quite a bit older than
22. It is therefore likely that I could exclude the last two
Thomases as well.

The last (100%) confirmed child was in 1860. There was one other
child in 1865 which seems to be theirs, too. He was Thomas H.L.
WEBB born and died in 1865 with parents: Thomas and Sarah. I
could find no other Thomas and Sarah having children or being of
child bearing age and married in that area of time.

If any of the above Thomases are yours, or you can help in any
way, please let me know. I'd love to be able to follow this line
back further. I can't until I have a death date and/or parents.
If I can't find out via the lists, I guess I'll go ahead and get
the marriage certificate. Or can someone help out there, too??
