Good morning again,
This is the second bunch of my NSW ancestors. If you follow closely,
you may be able to work out the missing piece from the first message.
;->
If you have any info on any of the people mentioned -- and you haven't
compared info with me yet or you have new info -- please let me know.
Feel free to reply to the list address as most list admins do prefer
to have list relevant replies posted to the list ratehr than privately
where other interested subscribers may miss out.
Janet C. DAWSON
b. 1897 NSW, Australia
d. unknown I didn't find her death before 1945
Mother: Margaret DAWSON Father: Unknown No other details for her
mother, yet...
Married George SHIELD in 1921 in Ashfield, NSW. Their daughter, born
in 1919, is my grandmother.
Now, I'll work form the top down to give George's ancestry (my
ancestry).
[In case I lose you, George's parents are Amelia THURSTON and Thomas
SHIELD]
Samuel THURSTON married Elizabeth (THURSTON) in about 1835, most
likely in England somewhere. They had a son...
Samuel THURSTON (b. abt 1838 d. 1864 NSW) married Fanny TURNER in
1858in NSW. They had Samuel G. in 1859, Amelia in 1861 and Alexander
in 1865. After Samuel died in 1864, Fanny had Charlotte A. and
William Henry in 1868 and 1875 respectively. In case you missed it,
Samuel wasn't the father -- he was dead.
Amelia THURSTON, daughter of the above, (b. 1861 d. yes) married
Thomas SHIELD. More about that when we get to Thaoms.
---------
Robert SHIELD (d. 30 Jul 1889, son of Thomas and Susan) married
Rebecca COOK (b. 3 Apr 1818 Walcot, Falkingham, Lincoln, England d.
20 Sep 1902 Forbes, NSW, daughter of George Thomas and Sarah) in 1838
in England. They arrived at Botany Bay on 31 March 1845 aboard the
"Elizabeth" with their sons, William (6) & Robert (infant). They had
nine more children after their arrival. The first was...
Thomas SHIELD (c. 1846 Prospect, St Bartholomew's, CofE d. 1914
NSW). Thomas marired Amelia THURSTON (above) in 1878 in NSW. They
had at least seven children, including George SHIELD (husband of Janet
C. DAWSON). George and Janet are two of my gg-grandparents.
I hope you've been able to understand what I have written on my NSW
ancestors. After doing more detailed stuff for my Norfolk Island and
Tasmanian ancestors for those two lists, I didn't have the energy to
put the same effort into the NSW stuff.
And, I am so worn out, I will be skipping the other lists I am on
until at least tomorrow.
Charles
