Dear Coralie,
If you are in the city, go to the State Library in Macquarie Street and
at the newspaper counter they will tell you exactly what paper was being
printed at the time. Then fill out a slip for the date you want, wait
for possibly 20 minutes and it will come to you, probably microfilm.
Alternatively write to the Goulburn Family History Group with a donation
of about $30 and tell them what you want. Address, I think is POB 611
GOULBURN.
I took that latter option a few years ago and what I received in return
was fantastic, depending of course what they have.
The cost of fuel at the moment even as close as you are it would cost
you more than that to drive there.
The Goulburn Library is where all the action is for family history there
and they have the papers. I think it was called the Penny Post and is
still going, but just how early I am not sure.
Sincerely,
Bill
PS In due course I would be interested to know how you fared.
