I am looking for descendants or other information regarding Thomas Kelly who
married Anne Hurley (nee Levy) in Braidwood in 1854.

Anne, a widow, already had 5 children from her previous marriage to John
Hurley who died at Araluen in 1853.

Anne and Thomas had 6 children:

Thomas James Kelly, married Emma Bell, Braidwood 1879
Mary Ann Kelly, married Joseph Leach, Queanbeyan 1881
Matilda Kelly, married 1) Thomas Warren (reg. as Warner) Queanbeyan 1881
2) James Butler Cooma 1891
Bridget Kelly, married William Keevil Braidwood 1879
Sarah Jane Kelly
Kate Kelly

There is a family tradition that Thomas Kelly joined the police force and
was involved in the capture of the bushrangers Thomas & John Clarke and
Patrick Connell in 1867.

He became ostracised for joining the "enemy" by his former friends and
neighbours who were sympathetic to the Clarke Brothers.

It is reported that Thomas died in Tarban Creek Insane Asylum in Gladesville
in the 1880's but I cannot find any trace of his death.

Anne Levy remarried to William Linford/Lynford at Braidwood in 1870.

Other names associated with the family are:
Carroll, Davis, Mahoney, Robinson, Chalker and Unwin.

Any help would be appreciated.
