One of the best is the History of the Berrima District for a general
overview of the area and has 230 pages.

There are specific books available for the villages:

PENROSE, A Village called 48 pages
EXETER, Exploring 60 pages
COLO VALE, Celebrating 50 years app. 60 pages
BUNDANOON, From Jordans Crossing to 81 pages
AVOCA - Echoes though the Mist 200 pages
BOWRAL, Beautiful 134 pages (bit of history contained in a sort of
coffee table type book)
MITTAGONG, Picturesque History 136 pages (bit of history contained in
a sort of coffee table type book)
JOADJA CREEK 175 pages

There is a new book out called Southern Highlands which is full of
photographs mainly of today and I believe is is something like $50 or $70.
Its more of a coffee table book than history.
