NEW ROUND OF CULTURAL HERITAGE FUNDING NOW AVAILABLE

Federal Member for Gilmore, Joanna Gash, has urged local non profit
community groups to apply for a grant of funding from the Cultural
Heritage Projects Program.

Applications will also be considered from Councils and private owners of
heritage properties.

" The Shoalhaven is an area rich in heritage value and there are many
projects worthy of conservation.

" This funding will enable conservation works to be carried out on
significant heritage places plus bring benefits to the community,
preserving our cultural heritage.

" The program does not fund natural environment projects but is more
directed at nationally significant cultural heritage places.

" Applicants should note that the closing date is Friday April 19th, this
year, so make sure you get your applications in early", said Mrs Gash.

Applications and information can be obtained through Mrs Gash's office on
free call 1800 635 697 or free call to Environment Australia on 1800 653 004.

" I urge interested groups in the Shoalhaven to apply without delay" Mrs
Gash said.
