I am new to the list and I wonder if anyone is interested in this surname.
James Sennett b. c 1826 London died 1900, buried Rookwood Cem. Sydney
James married Mary Jane FLETCHER in ARALUEN 1866
They had 5 children
Thomas Henry b. 1867 Araluen
Catherine E b. 1869 Braidwood
JAMES b. 1870 Braidwood
Then the family moved to EMMAVILLE, James was a miner in Araluen and
Emmaville. 2 more children were born.
Elizabeth b. 1872 Emmaville and Emily b. 1875. Emmaville.
Mary Jane SENNETT the mother, died in Emmaville 1875 soon after Emilys
birth.
After Marys death James apparently moved the family back to Sydney to be
near his mother in law Catherine Fletcher and she is in fact buried with
James in
Rookwood. After years of research I can trace this family during the late
1890s
only in Newtown, Sydney but cant fill in the years from 1876 to say 1893.
I have all the details of the 2 of the children Thomas and Elizabeth who
didnt
marry and are also buried in Rookwood. Emily who married Harry Atkin 1901
in Sydney is buried with her husband in Rookwood. CATHERINE E appears
to have disappeared off the face of the earth. and JAMES SENNETT jnr. who
is the one I am really seeking MIGHT be the one buried in PERTH 1942. The
death cert really doesnt match stating he was born in Vic. but was native of
Araluen ???? and he had no relations. Not much help really.
A James Sennett was listed a my mothers father, her mother was Wilma PATTON.
My mother was LILLIAN SENNETT b. 1906-7 BATHURST NSW.
My question is did James Sennett snr. go back to Araluen area after 1876
and before he finally settled in Sydney in the late 1890s before he died in
1900.
Any info or suggestions to this puzzle would be very much appreciated.
