I cut the following insert to "In search" in the Daily Telegraph earlier
this year "Robert S Stapylton - born 1896, Orange, NSW, where his father,
Henry, was postmaster. After working with the PMG in NSW country areas,
including Cowra and Campbelltown, he retired to Springwood, where he died in
1966. Seeking a photo of Robert, or a group photo in which he appears, for
his 84 year old daughter. Contact A. King, ". The
Stapylton family had property in what was North Springwood, now Winmalee,
in the early 1900's and are mentioned in "Hawkesbury Road and the
development of North Springwood" by Lindsay Paish. You might like to

the Blue Mountains Family History Society Inc, P.O. Box 97, Springwood, 2777
or visit their website www.rootsweb.com/~nswbmfhs and send an email. They
were a well known family and there is a street in Winmalee named after
them - "Stapylton Street". I knew one of the Stapylton family members in
the late 60's. The Robert Stapylton mentioned above may not be the same
Robert Stapylton you are looking for, but could give you a lead.
