Greeting from a sunny but cold Edinburgh Scotland.

I have joined this list as I discovered 2 of the siblings of my
Great-grandfather emigrated to New South Wales, Australia in the late
1800's. To my delight I find the BMD registrations for NSW are indexed
online and have unearthed the following information.

John AULD b. Stevenston, Ayrshire, Scotland 1842
(parents John AULD and Janet THOMSON)
m. Georgina MUIR Aug 1873 Kilmarnock, Ayrshire
Children (all born Concord, NSW):
John Hay G b. 1874
David Thomson b. 1875
Robert b. 1877
James Muir b. 1879

John and Georgina must have emigrated in 1873/74 shortly after their
marriage

Robert AULD b. Kilmarnock, Ayrshire, Scotland 1848
m. Kate SHERRINGHAM 1880, Mudgee, NSW
Children :
Jessie Thompson b. 1880, Mudgee
Hugh b. 1882 Mudgee
David L b. 1884, Mudgee
Robert B b. 1892, Sydney
Margaret C b. 1982, Sydney
(There was also a Grace A AULD, who I cannot find in the indexes, but
who married a William S HENDERSON in 1909 in Marrickville, NSW)

Robert was no longer living with the family in the 1871 Census, so he
may have emigrated by then, but certainly before 1880.

I can find neither Robert nor John in the indexes to assisted arrivals
in Sydney between 1860 and 1896.

I would be delighted to hear from anyone knows anything more about these
AULDs, or has access to information about passenger lists in 1873/74.

Are any of the censuses in Australia available online ?
