Similar to New Zealand. we have Picton down South Island, named after Sir Thomas Picton. I always find it interesting to learn as to how places get their names!
Sir Thomas Picton The hero of Badajoz. who fell at Waterloo according to a book I have in front of me, maybe I will google Badajoz now!!
