Tracy,

The Trocadero was in Upper George Steet, on the western side, the site is
now the Hoyts Theatre Complex, which is south of Sydney Town Hall. Here is a
great site about the history of the Troc:-

http://home.westserv.net.au/~fordhen/Troc.html

This is a great site for anyone that is interested, it is the complete
history of the Trocadero and contains everything you ever wanted to know.

There also appears to be a book written about the Trocadero and at the
bottom of the story is an Email address to contact:-

"Meet Me At The Trocadero" - Story of the life and times of the old Sydney
Trocadero 1936/1971. Descriptions of the Social Functions, Ballroom Dancing
Competitions, the Troc's role during the War Years and other activities
which made the Trocadero the centre of the social life of Sydney for 35
years. Also memories of the musicians who played in the famous Sydney
Trocadero Dance Band and of its leader, jazz trombonist Frank Coughlan.
Contact Joan Ford.

Cost $20 + $5 postage.

Regards,
Janice
