Subject: Paddlewheeler "Gundagai" Murray River 1856

Cheers everyone!

The increasing importance of river transport on the Murray to those
inland
is shown by the publishing in newspapers of the manifest of the paddle
steamers. The manifest of the "Gundagai" and its barge, the "Darling",
published in the [Albury] "Border Post" 1 November, 1856, lists William
WISE
as receiving goods.

Would anyone with an interest in paddle wheelers know where I may find
an
illustration of the "Gundagai"? List members have been most helpful with
text references and I have checked most of the usual sources, NLA
pictorial, PICMAN, and SLV Multimedia.

Any other thoughts from the "Illuminated Ones"!

Kind regards,
Jen
