Hi Liane,
Burrowa is the old spelling for the present town of BOOROWA. Some
major nearby towns are Young and Yass.
Some of my ancestors were married and christened here as well
(Harcombe, Hadden, Tout, Bush). They were all Church of England
though - not Catholic. The C of E church registers for Burrowa have
been indexed by the Heraldry & Genealogical Society of Canberra
(HAGSOC). They have an internet site - but I can't remember the
address. They will do a search for a fee in these records, I think
they also hold cemetery transcripts for the area.
Usually Catholic records are still held by the church concerned. Try
the white pages on the net for a church name. When you have the name
write to the parish priest and ask for a search. The church marriage
register should give you the names of the parents and the birth place
of the bride and groom.
Hope this helps!
