Hello everyone!

I have discovered that the Dutton family immigrated to Australia via
WA, SA or NT and not the usual route through NSW and Victoria. They
are my gt uncle's family. If anyone can find their immigration
details, I would be most grateful. We believe that they travelled in
a group of brothers - at least one had a wife and child. I have also
copied this message to the WA and SA List so apologies if you see
this a few times.

1851 census Brierley Wood, Lockwood Yorkshire (Huddersfield Reg Dist)
Walter Dutton Head unmarried 26yrs Silk Dresser Born Stockport Cheshire
Mary Dutton sister unmarried 29yrs Housekeeper Born Stockport Cheshire
Abel Dutton brother unmarried 22yrs Silk Dresser Born Stockport Cheshire
John Dutton brother unmarried 14yrs Silk Dresser Born Huddersfield Yorks
Hannah Dutton sister unmarried 11yrs Scholar Born Huddersfield
Charles Dutton brother unmarried 8yrs Scholar Born Huddersfield

We know that Abel had married in Yorkshire and had one child before
he left home and eventually settled in NSW. Walter had also married
and had a family who remained in Yorkshire, but Walter is missing
from the 1861 and 1871 census. His wife is widowed in 1881.
Charles remained at home in Yorkshire - we think. So the group would
entail, Abel Dutton 27yrs and wife Lydia, daughter, Hannah 2yrs,
Walter Dutton about 31yrs and John Dutton 19yrs. We think they
immigrated about end of 1855 - 1856 as Abel had a son at Tumut NSW in 1857.
